How I work

With over 20 years’ experience as a senior HR professional working internationally across multiple industries, alongside my ICF-accredited Certificate in Professional Coaching Practice, I deliver HR consultancy and coaching that is both strategic and deeply human.

I support organisations and individuals navigating change, growth and complexity by combining senior-level HR expertise with a transformational coaching approach that builds confidence, clarity and sustainable impact.

I don’t believe in doing change to people. Working with them to create the conditions for insight, ownership and meaningful progress.

What I do

I specialise in translating people strategy into practical reality; through leadership and capability development, learning frameworks, and the implementation of people systems that support growth, consistency, and sustainable performance.

I work flexibly, on a project basis or as ongoing support; always tailoring my approach to align with your objectives, values and culture. My work sits at the intersection of people, systems, and learning, helping organisations implement frameworks and platforms that build capability, support leaders, and are actually adopted by the people expected to use them.

Alongside this, coaching sits at the heart of how I work.

Coaching

For my coaching clients, I draw not only on my professional experience but also on my own lived experience —including divorce, redundancy, neurodiversity and bereavement. I combine this with positive psychology and emotional intelligence to create a space that feels safe, grounded and real.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, personally or professionally, my one-to-one coaching is designed to bring clarity, focus and renewed self-belief. Through deep listening and thoughtful challenge, I support clients to break down barriers, reconnect with their strengths and move forward with confidence.

Why coaching matters to me

I became a coach after first becoming aware of coaching techniques and consciously beginning to use them in everyday life; in how I framed conversations, responded to situations and showed up for others.

But the pivotal moment came in 2020.

During Covid, I found myself sitting on the bathroom floor holding my 16-year-old daughter as she struggled deeply with her mental health. With very little external support available and a sense of helplessness I can still feel, I instinctively turned to coaching-based questions; not to fix, but to understand. Open, empathetic yet gently challenging questions. Deep listening. Creating space for her to find her own answers.

In that emotionally charged moment, those skills required more discipline, presence and self-awareness than I had ever experienced before. Holding my daughter, wanting nothing more than to take away her pain, took every ounce of strength I had.

That conversation changed everything. It led to her opening up and eventually to discovering she has ADHD. The journey wasn’t easy, but she found her path. Last year, with tears and pride in equal measure, we watched her head off to college in Edinburgh to pursue her dream of working in theatre and film, specialising in prosthetics and special effects.

She is worlds away from the vulnerable girl I held that day. She has learned that she is brave. And while life will always have wobbles, I know she’ll be okay; because we know how to have the right conversations.

That moment led me to formally train as an ICF ACSTH Professional Coach and gain my Certificate in Professional Coaching Practice.

Coaching has been genuinely life-changing, and it shapes how I show up in all aspects of my work.

My Approach

Much of my coaching work is informed by my BRAVE Method. A practical, human approach to helping people break patterns, rebuild confidence and move forward with clarity and courage. Working with me is not about forcing change, it’s about enabling it.
